General documentation about building embedded hardware based on Intel processor

I'm trying to find some document that overview process of developing embedded systems platform. I know what SoC I want to use and what capbilities system should have.

 

1. Where to start and what steps to take ?

2. How to obtain CRB for my SoC ?

3. Where to find schematics PCB modification guidelines for my SoC ?

4. Where to find BWG ?

4. How partners ecosystem works, are there manufacturing partners ? Who can design/develope firmware ?

5. How to validate platform during manufacturing ?

 

Is there any document like that ? It is very hard to find anything in Design Center especially something that will give general introduction. Also search not always return what is asked for.

Wondering Skylake package length for DDR4 signals distributed as mch_22x48_len,  mch_22x66_len, mch_22x85_len is available.

Also, how to get relevant interposer lengths as mch_35x65_len, mch_35x120_len, mch_35x155_len?

Hi,

 

When RMT is data taken, wondering it's margining only one bit at a time OR multiple bits are margined simultaneously.

I would like to understand the sources of x-talk. Are only the nibble members are x-talk sources OR the byte members or only the associated strobe is the x-talk source?

E3825 stuck in FspInitApi() Memory Init

Hi Community,

 

I'm trying to port coreboot to a Intel Atom E3800 Board.

Kontron COMe-mBT10 (https://www.kontron.de/products/boards-and-standard-form-factors/com-express/com-express-mini/come-mbt10.html )

 

But I'm stuck in FspInitApi probably during the memory initalization.

The last post_code i get from coreboot is 0x92 that i can find in src/drivers/intel/fsp1_0/fsp_util.c just before

 

post_code(POST_FSP_MEMORY_INIT);

FspInitApi(&FspInitParams);

 

than some more post codes are send  0x32c 0x22d 0x32d 0x62d 0x22e 0x62e 0x52eb and last one ist 0x12f

after that i'm stuck. FspInitApi is supposed to return to ChipsetFspReturnPoint(EFI_STATUS Status, VOID *HobListPtr) in src/soc/intel/fsp_baytrail/fsp/chipset_fsp_util.c but it never reaches that point.

 

can someone tell me what these last 3-digits Post Codes mean ?

BIOS upgrade issue in GLK

HI,

I download BIOS image #571539 "Gemini Lake Platform Reference Board BIOS Image Revision 45.4.01" from Intel Electronic Design Kit.

My target device is GLK RVP2, so I select file(\IFWI\RVP2_PROD\BtG2_VM_SPIDtpm_PROD\GLK_NR02_B0B0-NNNN_CPSF_SNS2_000080_2017WW45.4.01_NN.bin) for BIOS upgrade.

After I use Dediprog to flash, the RVP2 can't boot up successfully which is without any screen output and the port-80 is always 0000.

However, I can recovery the RVP2 by flashing the default BIOS image which is cloned from other's RVP2.

Did I miss some necessary steps?

I have some questions about E3845's minimum DTS

Hello

 

I use E3845 (Baytrail-I) processor.

I had some temperature tests....

this test is Low temperature test...

 

The following measurement results were obtained.

After booting, DTS did not change for about 10 minutes.(38:08 ~ 48:09)...

E3827/3845

Had many board built with the E3805/15/26/27 and 45 processors and did not have any problems powering up.

My last batch with E3827 and 45 will not power up. The PMIC raises V1P0A, V1P2A, V1P8A, V3P3A and then raises RSMRST#.

The processor never responds with SLP_S4#.

I do not have access to PMC_SUSCLK0 or ILB_RTC_TEST#

I did add an addition power source for VNN_S but the sequence does not make it to where it is turned on.

C3000 (denverton) platform Harcuvar - want to boot legacy mode bios to install 32 bit ubuntu

How and if it is possible to used a 32bit OS on this eval board (HARCUVAR) hence first thing is to boot USB installation with legacy bios not UEFI.
